History

Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University, Faculty of Fine Arts was established on 31/01/2005 according to the additional article 30 of the Law No. 2809 of 28/03/1983. Within the Faculty, the Department of Painting and the Department of Music Sciences was opened on 13/03/2008, the Ceramic Department on 10/03/2010, the Ceramic Department on 10/03/2010 the Visual Communication Design Department, the Cartoon - Animation Department and the Traditional Turkish Arts Department on 10/03/2010 in accordance with the article 7 / d-2 of the Faculty Higher Education Board's Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880. In December 2010, the construction of the faculty building was completed and in the 2011-2012 academic year, with the special talent examination, it took 25 students to the Painting Department and 9 students to the Ceramic Department and started education. In the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 24/04/2019, in accordance with Article 7 / d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880.

a) Changing the name of the Visual Communication Department to the Graphic Department, the name of the Visual Communication Major Art branch to the Graphic Major Art branch (Number: 79594239-101.03.01 / E.31844),

b) Changing the name of the Department of Music Sciences to Music Department and the name of Music Sciences Major Art branch to Music Major Art branch were approved (Number: 79594239-101.03.01 / E.31844),

Again, at the meeting of the General Assembly of Higher Education on 24/04/2019, openning of the Department of Basic Art Education and the Major Science branch of Basic Art Education affiliated to this department were approved in accordance with the article 7 / d-2 of the Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880, The teaching staff the Faculty of Fine Arts consists of 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 14 Dr. Instructor consists of 3 Instructors and 3 Research Assistants. In addition, there are6 administrative and technical personnel. As of 2019-2020 Fall Semester, the total number of enrolled students is 232, including 150 in the Painting Department, 67 in the Ceramics Department and 15 in the Traditional Turkish Arts Department.
